Israeli Continues Tri-Pronged Military Operations in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria

The IDF continued its multifront offensive against Tehran-aligned factions operating in Lebanon and Gaza throughout Wednesday, while the world awaits Israel’s response to Iran’s unprecedented direct missile barrage last week. Reports indicate new strikes against targets in Syria early Monday morning.

According to Syrian state media, Israel carried out several airstrikes against a car manufacturing plant in the city of Homs in central Syria as well as a military installation in the city of Hama’s exurbs, some 29 miles (47 km) north.

The strikes, which allegedly only caused “some material damage,” according to Syrian state TV, nonetheless incited a farewell at the facility in Homs that firefighters are currently still working to put out, the site’s director told the press.

The city of Daara heard additional explosions to the south, but the cause of the blasts is still unknown.

Syria has accused Israel of significantly escalating its military actions inside the country in recent weeks despite the lack of independent verification of the alleged early morning attacks. On Tuesday, state media reported that an Israeli strike hit a residential building in the Mezzah suburb of Damascus, killing seven civilians and injuring 11 others.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces pushed further into Lebanon and continued as part of an effort to cripple Hezbollah’s military capabilities.

In Gaza, the Hamas-run Health Ministry announced that the death toll had surpassed 42,000 after recovering 40 bodies from the enclave’s central city of Jabaliya, an area that has seen intense fighting throughout the war. Without providing evidence, Israeli officials claim the heavy bombardment killed over 100 Hamas fighters and is necessary for counterinsurgency operations.
