Linda Lee Tarver is married to Clint and has two adult children, Jennifer and Terrance. Linda Lee is director of community affairs with the state of Michigan and holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and a master’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology. She is pursuing a doctorate of education with an emphasis in organizational leadership.
Linda Lee has been involved in local and state party politics for many years. She serves as Ethnic Vice Chair of the Michigan Republican Party, former Chairwoman of the Ingham County Republican Party, member of the 8th Congressional District Executive committee, and former advisory board member of The Frederick Douglass Foundation of Michigan. Linda Lee is involved with the Mid-Michigan Republican Women’s Club and is the vice chair and founding member of the Alliance of Black Republicans. In 2008 and 2012 she served as a National Delegate to the Republican National Convention and in 2009, Linda Lee was appointed by the state Senate Majority Leader to serve on the Lansing Promise Zone Authority Board.
Since elected as Ethnic Vice Chair of the Michigan Republican Party, Linda Lee has established a coalition of diverse leaders and Republicans across the state and serves as honorary advisor to the Michigan Arab-American Republican, African-American Republican, and Hispanic/Latino American Republican advisory council. Linda Lee is a member of the Republican Jewish Coalition of Michigan and the Christian Coalition.
Aside from her political involvement, Linda Lee is a businesswoman and president of Tarver Consulting. Mrs. Tarver was appointed by Governor Snyder to in December 2013 to serve the people of Michigan as a Civil Rights Commissioner where she took the oath of office to uphold the constitution of Michigan and the constitution of the United States in January, 2014. She serves her local community as a board member for the Old Newsboy Association, an organizer for the annual Michigan National Day of Prayer, and is an active member and teacher at Mt. Zion All Nations Bible Church.
The youngest of 10 children raised in a two-parent home, Linda Lee learned the importance of education, hard work, community, service, and faith in God. Linda’s daughter Jennifer is a double-degreed graduate of Michigan State University and her son Terrance is a 2nd Lt. with the US Army and a graduate of Howard University in Washington DC.
